Before I begin I just want to say: Next time I better be told that we have to
go on a boat so I can stay home! Don't like boats or water! Now, for the
tale...
We gathered at the fort for a grand night of treasure hunting. There were eight
of us. Our guide was Wazdakka, a truely masterfull treasure hunter! His skills
led us to to four hidden troves! We were led by Xnath. Zog, and myself,
OggBog'BeBog, Sharku, Baku, and Vergu the gruntie made up the rest of the
treasure seekers.
We set off for the far off human city of Minoc. Along the way we were attacked
by many baddies. But our training shown through as we Krimped our foes and
hacked them down. No ork lives were lost! Well, that is not entirely true. I
had a few of those purple potions that the keng gave us when we fought the
elvies. Being in playful mood, I threw one at a group of orcs. We were having a
good spirited fight (they did not like being charred I guess) when all of a
sudden a giant ettin and an urk jumped us from the trees. I think they were
waiting to ambush us. Too bad we did not have a scout to keep a look out.
Anyway, a few orks fell but were soon rezzed by a wanderer who was near by.
We continued on with a promise from me not to burn anyone again. Hehe. Soon, we
came to our first site. Waz dug up the treasure. One of the orcs eagerly opened
the chest and boom, he lost a few fingers. Afterwords, we stood back as Waz
skillfully disarmed the rest. Didn't take long to learn that lesson! I was
designated as the treasure gatherer. All the other orks stood guard! I grabbed
the first item of treasure. It was a magic cloak. All of a sudden a rat man
appeared. He tried to grab the cloak from me! But a group of orcs surrounded
him and knocked him to the ground. It was quite a sight to see him clinging to
my boot as the orcs pulled him away and clobbered him good. He might have had a
group with him but they wisely kept away after seeing the ferocious orks in
action! WE HAD OUR FIRST TREASURE OF THE NIGHT! The shinies felt good as they
trinkled through my hands in to the bag. Then things got bad....
We are going on a what? A boat? I was informed that we now had to get on a boat
to get to the next site! I do not remember anyone mentioning this before! As
much as I hate boats, I loved getting the treasure even more. So I got aboard.
Do not think I was the only orc who did not want to float around. Many of the
orcs did not wish to go. Only Waz seemed to not be afraid of the water.
We shared most of our supper with the ocean. It was not a pleasant sight. But
finally after a run in with a water elemental, we made it to shore again. I can
only describe this next scene with two words: utter chaos! We all wanted to get
off. Everyone ran to the gangplank. No one made it off. I do not know who
tripped who, but we all tumbled over! A few almost ended up in the ocean. Thank
you OggBo'Begog for grabbing me before I went over! It took us quite awhile to
get off that boat. Some human walked by and would not stop laughing after he
witnessed our plight. Finally, everyone was safely on the ground. Much bowing
and kissing of the ground followed. We seemed to perform this ritual for the
rest of the night. hehe.
We began our journey to the next treasure. Something happened that Olog never
forget. Little, cold things started to fall from the sky. Never have I seen
this before. The smarter more experienced orcs told me that it was called snow.
It was very cold but it felt good on my tongue.
The snow fell hard and several times I got lost. Once I could not even see my
hand in front of my face. The other orcs found me and we continued on. We made
it to a house that had what seemed to be a warm fire. By then , the snow had
let up. A human came out of the house and greeted us. He asked what we were
doing this far from the land of Kor (he heard of the great and wonderful Kor).
I replied that we were treasure hunting and he then gave me five more maps that
I gave to Waz. His name was Oryn Sureflight. If he comes to the orc lands,
treat him well or Olog will clobber! He give us the maps to pay tribute to the
King. This is a big gift!
We gathered the second treasure without much happening. It was so uneventful
that I decided we needed some fun. I grabbed another one of the purple bottles
and tossed it again. If Xnath was amused the first time, he was definately not
the second. He clomp me quick. I hit him back a couple of times with my stick
but not very hard, He made a ghost out of me quick. That certainly taught me a
lesson. hehe. I got rezzed and we continued on. We had to get on the boat
again. (I should have stayed a ghost!)
Waz found the third treasure, disarmed it and I begin to gather the treasure.
Half way through, a creature appeared! It came up behind me! Zog moved like
lightning. It barely utter a breath before he felled it with one deadly blow.
We orcs were much impressed by this! Zog guarded me for the rest of the night!
I hand picked him for this task. hehe
Again we boarded the boat. I had still not gotten accustomed to it's constant
churning. After a journey that seemed to take forever, we hit ground and I
rushed to land. Vergu got in my way (silly runtie) and I was forced to knock
him over the head with my stick because he would not move fast enough! Sorry.
In his defence, he was running almost as fast as I was. But I had had all I
could take of that boat! I made it to land and again I tasted dirt!
